Rehoming Your Pet

If you have decided to give up your own pet and you're wondering if Krazy for Kats can take in your cat.  Please understand that we are a VERY SMALL rescue and adoption group and the work we do consists of saving stray and feral cats/kittens living on the streets. We are limited to 20 cats/kittens at one time.  We receive quite a few calls each day from people needing to "re-home" their pet.  While we would love to help everyone in the community, please understand that if we take it your current pet, which already has a home, that means there is one less space at the Kat House for the abandoned kitties on the streets.

You may want to contact the National Rescue Group called the AMANDA FOUNDATION for re-homing your own pet. Go to Rehome Gallery to list your pet for FREE on their website.

Another wonderful shelter intervention program called The Rescue Train can provide help as well!  We receive quite a few calls each day from people needing to "re-home" their pet.

While we would love to help everyone in the community, please understand that if we take it your current pet, which already has a home, that means there is one less space at the Kat House for the abandoned kitties on the streets. Having a pet is a lifetime responsibility. Please be kind to your personal pets and senior animals!

Here are options that we have to offer.

option 1

We can network your information to rescue groups in the LA area for assistance.  While we cannot guarantee that your cat will be accepted, we can post your information for rescues to contact you. Please email us your name, phone and city your live in and a detail description of why you cannot keep your pet to michele@krazyforkats.com.

Include your pet's age and description, personality and medical history. Attach 2 close up photos of the head and body of your cat. Please only submit good quality photos. Your email will be sent out that day.

option 2

WE DO NOT TAKE IN PETS FOR FREE!  Krazy for Kats runs soley on donations and can only continue efforts in rescue when funds are available. Proof of age and past veterinary medical records are required and the cat must be up to date on treatments and have recently been tested for Felv/FIV.  We may be able to accept your cat for a re-homing fee of $100/year of the age of your cat.  This is tax deductible for you.

option 3

We can post your pet on the KFK website for adopters to contact you directly. We charge $100/cat for this service.  You must be willing to list your name, phone # and city your live in and charge a re-homing fee that is comparable with our adoption fees.  the cat(s) will remain in your home and you will hold the interviews for adopters.  All cats must have current medical work done such as spay/neuter, shots and testing for felv/fiv with vet records of such treatments.  We will not post cats over 8 years old or those with medical issues or at the end stage of their life. KFK is not responsible for adoptions or correspondence.
